The Growing Project promotes the value

Valley Organic Growers Association is a nonprofit membership organization located in the North Fork
Valley. Our members live on the Western Slope of Colorado. We envision
a vibrant community of prosperous, local farms that sustain the land
and provide healthy agricultural products. Our mission is to promote local sustainable agriculture by supporting and educating producers and consumers
Real Food Colorado is creating a sustainable infrastructure to help bring locally-grown products to schools and community establishments through regional food hubs. The goal of Real Food Colorado is to improve nutrition for school children and Coloradans, help local farmers grow business and bring jobs and economic benefit across Colorado.
Colorado MarketMaker is an interactive mapping
system that locates businesses and markets of agricultural products in
Colorado, providing an important link between producers and consumers.
Slow Food Western Slope functions as a chapter of Slow Food USA,
a non-profit educational organization. Our chapter covers a good
stretch of land in Mesa, Delta and Montrose counties in western
Colorado. This area is rich in farms, orchards, ranches, vineyards and
the arts and epitomizes the concepts of Slow Food - people live Slow
Food. We actively support school programs and sponsor the Kids’ Pasta Project. We also hold events that celebrate the good, clean food of the area.
Transition Colorado's mission is to inspire, encourage, network, support and train
communities as they consider, adopt, adapt and implement the transition
model in order to establish a Transition Initiative. The Transition
model emboldens communities to look peak oil and climate change squarely
in the eye and unleash the collective genius of their own people to
find the answers to this big question.
