It’s time to dig out your garden gear and spend some quality time playing in the dirt! By now you’ve probably taken numerous trips to your neighborhood nursery, you’ve plotted and worked your perfect produce space, and you might even have some seedlings that have started to sprout. You are ready for a summer of gardening!
The folks at Grow Local Colorado have also been busy planning and preparing for a promising and fruitful season. On Sunday, April 13th, 21 GLC volunteers, started 80 seedling flats to be transplanted among Grow Local Colorado’s 8 gardens. The seedling party was an opportunity for GLC volunteers to socialize and volunteer some time to making our community a little healthier. Grow Local Colorado gardens are located in 2 Denver Parks, the Governor’s Mansion, both of Urban Peak’s youth shelters, the HOPE Program (providing medical assistance to homeless AIDS patients), and Community Ministry’s garden.
Thank you, wonderful volunteers! We couldn't have done it without you.
